On Thursday, we celebrate Thanksgiving, a holiday to give thanks for the past year. While it might seem hard to give thanks after a year of lockdowns, rising and falling COVID cases, and so much anger and death, there has never been a better year to celebrate this holiday.
This year, let's be thankful for our health, let's be thankful for a job where we have fought for benefits that allowed our members to make it through the pandemic relatively unscathed. Let's be thankful for the health insurance that we fought for, the benefits we won, and the pay that ensures a middle-class lifestyle for our members.
As we sit down for dinner on Thursday, lets put aside the divisiveness over vaccines and politics and be thankful that we are once again able to sit down with our family members to share a meal, to share a laugh or a story, and to enjoy a holiday together again.
I hope that all of our members have a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy.
