On November 1, IBEW 36 will be having a general membership union meeting. Immediately preceding the meeting, we will have a representative from the IBEW/NECA Family Medical Care Plan to give a presentation on the new medical benefits that will take effect at the first of the year for most RG&E bargaining unit members.
It is imperative that you actively enroll in benefits during the open enrollment period this year. If you do not elect your benefits choices, you will not have any coverage next year. Since all of the benefits are changing next year you do not have the ability to ignore open enrollment and just keep the same benefits you have this year. Unless you make your choices during this period you will have no medical coverage next year and there is nothing we can do about it. You absolutely need to do this so please make it your priority. The monthly meeting will start once the FMCP presentation is finished.
