As most of you know, we reached a tentative agreement on a successor collective bargaining agreement for the RG&E bargaining unit late last Wednesday, June 6. The current contract remains in full force and effect pending membership ratification of the new one. We have set up ratification meetings for Tuesday, June 19th at IBEW Local Union 86; 2300 East River Rd Rochester NY 14623. You will be receiving notice via U.S. Mail of these meetings of the Local Union today or tomorrow, and that will contain all of the official details, so please reference that notice when you receive it.
Copies of the tentative agreement will be made available, one per member for which you must sign for, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday June 19th. The special meetings, to present the agreement and answer questions, will be held at 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Both meetings serve the same purpose; the 11:00 AM meeting is intended to accommodate shift and scheduled workers who work the evening shift and for those otherwise unable to attend the 5:00 meeting, but you are welcome to attend either one as it fits your schedule. It is highly suggested that you bring your copy of the current contract for reference.
Voting will be conducted via secret ballot, to accept or reject the tentative agreement, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM, and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. No ballots may be cast after 8:00 PM. Please note that you will need a photo ID in order to vote.
The times for receipt of the tentative agreement and for voting are firm and we will not be giving out copies or allowing voting outside of the designated hours. Only members of the RG&E bargaining unit are eligible to attend the meetings and vote on the tentative agreement.
