On Saturday April 8 the members of our PeopleReady unit (formerly Spartan Staffing) ratified a 5-year successor collective bargaining agreement to that one which was set to expire on April 1st. This contract provides for a nearly 24% wage increase over 5 years, as well as lowering the qualifying number of hours for vacation pay and paid holidays by 300 hours, providing for a more defined and equitable way of distributing extended workday and overtime assignments, additional employer-provided safety equipment, and a bonus incentive for perfect attendance. Special thanks to Brother Jeff Anderson for his participation on the bargaining committee...his assistance was indispensable in these negotiations which lasted right up until the last day.
Local 36 tee shirts are in and for those who have not received one either by coming to our April monthly meeting or through your steward, they will be available at the June monthly meeting as well.
